Mario's obituary

Mario Alan Gregory (aka Butch) 76, peacefully passed away on Monday, April 8th, 2024.

He is survived by his loving wife, Madelyn Gregory, and his children Michelle Starr and David Gregory (Jennifer); grandchildren: Jacob Starr (Alyssa), Shelby Starr, Josh Starr, David Starr, Cole Gregory, and Beau Gregory. Sibling: Ronald Gregory (Barbara), and Nephew Mark Gregory (Nichol). Preceded in death by parents Mario Gregory and Helen Gregory.

Alan was born January 18, 1948 in Gary, IN and was a 1966 graduate of Lew Wallace High School and went on to proudly serve our country in the US Army during Vietnam.

On September 16, 1972, he married the love of his life Madelyn Gregory, and together they shared 52 years settling in Gary to raise their family. Alan retired from his job at Arc Bridges after 14 years of service.

Alan was a loving son, brother, father, uncle, grandfather, and friend and will truly be missed by all whose lives he touched.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 15th, 2024 from 3:00-7:00 PM at Hillside Funeral Home 8941 Kleinman Road (one block south of Ridge Road) Highland, IN.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, April 16th at 10:00 AM at Hillside Funeral Home 8941 Kleinman Road (one block south of Ridge Road) Highland, IN.

The burial will immediately follow at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, IN.
