On sept 15th which also happened to be my 41rst birthday I was notified my mother had passed in our home. I was also incarcerated resolving an old legal issue which is beyond crippling emotionally. My mother left this world the way she wanted, however she also left a lot of decisions to be made and directions in which path to follow. Having been incarcerated there is absolutely zero money with anything and her biggest statement was always that she wouldn’t burden us financially. We also decided that is our problem however life often gets in the way. She was a proud proud woman who wanted her family to be safe, not hurting and for all of us to be whole. I also know she’d kick my ass six ways to Sunday if I lose my apartment because it would end up losing her beloved cat Mitch, the other car Bow, and her dog. I’m starting this fundraiser because I need help. I need to make sure her cats can be fed, her dog is taken care of and getting my apartment taken care of so I don’t lose their home. It will also be used to cover travel expenses for family and hotel costs because she wanted to go home for her services and it’s quite a distance between here and there. Things have already been delayed as my vehicle had gotten towed and I had to find funding to get it back. It shouldn’t be this hard to lay my mother to rest. It’s beyond difficult for me to ask for help because I shouldn’t need it however I am also aware that I’m at a pivotal point in my life and without help I will never make it in the right direction which was all she ever wanted. This way my children have a place to find mom at, and I can honor her wishes to take care of the things she loved the most which includes myself. Right now I’m more concerned with burying her because it’s one step at a time for me and doing this alone is showing me how strong I really am and as painful as it is I very much see the lesson.
