Marilyn's obituary

Marilyn Frieda Klein (née Denney), 85, passed away on January 12, 2025, in Bangor, Maine.

Born on March 23, 1939, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Marilyn lived a life woven with love, faith, and quiet strength. She dedicated many years to her career as a Senior Claims Correspondent at Time Insurance Company, where she assisted individuals with pre-authorizations for medical procedures and equipment. Her meticulous care and unwavering patience reflected her deep commitment to helping others navigate life's challenges with dignity and reassurance.

Beyond her professional life, Marilyn’s warmth radiated through the many roles she embraced. She found immense joy in cooking and baking—her kitchen was a place of comfort where the aroma of homemade meals welcomed family and friends alike. She also had a passion for mentorship and service, which shone brightly through her work as a 4-H leader in Wisconsin. As a guiding force for the Kirchhayn Trotters and an active member of the Washington County Leadership Board, she nurtured young minds with wisdom and encouragement, leaving an indelible mark on those she mentored.

Faith was the foundation upon which Marilyn built her life. A devoted member of David's Star Lutheran Church in Jackson, Wisconsin, she actively participated in the Ladies Aid group, offering kindness and devotion to her church community. When she moved to Maine to be closer to her daughter, she continued her spiritual journey at First Congregational Church in East Millinocket, finding solace and fellowship among new friends.

Marilyn’s heart overflowed with love for those around her—including her cherished dog, Maggie, who brought her endless joy and companionship. She is survived by her daughter, Kathy; sons, Kenny and Steve; son-in-law, Jeffrey Butler; as well as her brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Jan Denney. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lawrence "Larry" Klein; along with her parents, Earl and Frieda Denney.

A visitation will be held at 11:00 AM followed by a service at noon on March 22, 2025, at First Congregational Church, 11 Maple St., East Millinocket, Maine. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church of East Millinocket in Marilyn's memory.

Marilyn’s kindness and generosity will remain etched in the hearts of all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those who mourn her passing.
