Marilyn's obituary
Marilyn Jean Hrusik, born October 31, 1933, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026.
Marilyn will be remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother who found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved baking, shopping, and playing bingo, and she had a special passion for giving to others. Whether it was a holiday or just because, Marilyn found great happiness in buying gifts and making sure those she loved felt remembered.
She spent many years working as a real estate agent, a career she truly enjoyed. Helping families find homes and begin new chapters brought her a strong sense of purpose and pride.
Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Candice Mattson (Michael Shapow), and her son, Matthew Mattson (Stephanie Mattson). She was a loving grandmother to Tatum Shapow, Tyler Mattson, and Ella Mattson, who brought her great joy.
She is also survived by her brothers, Mylon Morris (Louise) and Charles Morris (Lowaine). She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Morris, and her sister, Connie Smith.
Marilyn’s love, generosity, and the little traditions she created will be remembered by those who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider volunteering time at a nursing home, where many elderly are quietly lonely and could use a visit. Consider donating to a hospice organization, women's shelter, or senior services.
