I met Marilyn when my family moved to Holbrook to take over the Grove Store in 1964. I was in 7th grade and Marilyn was in 8th. We hung out together and in a group of friends, doing what we could to keep ourselves occupied until we were old enough to drive. Then, it was off to Nantasket Beach, down the Cape, camping, bowling, Putt-Putt, and trips to P-town. Our first jobs were at Angelo’s supermarket, where she was a cashier and I a bagger. We remained friends through high school and after.
I moved to Utah in 1976. Marilyn and I continued to correspond and visit when I returned to MA to visit. When Kristin and Tracey were about 6 years old, Marilyn brought them and her mother to Plymouth where my parents moved after they sold the store. The last time I saw her was when I visited her in Hanson. She was a big part of my adolescent years. We always had a good time together. Rest in peace, my friend.
