My condolences to Marilyn's family. I had the pleasure of working with Marilyn at Sunrise, and she quickly became one of my favorite people to spend time with. We laughed a lot, hugged a lot, and cried together on a few occasions. I won't forget her love of dogs, jewelry, and the outdoors. One of our best days, we found a snail outside and she was overjoyed to hold and watch the little guy, showing anyone and everyone we passed. Her joy was contagious. I've missed her dearly and will continue to think of her often.

Rhett,

Your mom was always so kind to me. I recall her often dropping by and picking my friends and me up for ice cream runs when we were punk teens who refused to attend Young Women’s activities. 😂

In my later years, she spoke kind and comforting words to me as a newly single parent to a young son. I always admired your and her relationship and thought of that often as I forged my way into raising my son with just the two of us for several years.

She was an Ivins neighborhood staple—the steady and kind we all needed. I'm so grateful for her generosity, as she often shared her time, Tuachan tickets, or a meal with my family and me.

She’ll be missed by so many. Thinking of you and your family.

-Kate

Marilyn had an amazing Dixie Sweet pomegranate tree, from which she generously shared her pomegranates. She could do many things with her hands, like sewing beautifully and was constantly knitting or crocheting. She was a lovely and kind woman.
I grew up calling this dear woman Aunt Marilyn, even though she was my dad’s cousin. We lived in Vegas when I was a child and it felt like we saw each other often. Going to her house was an adventure and seemed so foreign and exciting since there were cows close by. As the fifth child of our family, I am sure our visits were loud and could have been overwhelming trying to find space for us to sleep, or sit, or worry about the messes we made, but I remember always feeling welcome. Aunt Marilyn often had a smile and enthusiasm that made me feel loved. When she and Rhett visited us, I would try and wait outside to be the first one that spotted them. There was always a place for us at her house and we always made place for her and Rhett in ours. ❤️
