Jim joins me in sending our sympathy to Marie's family and in particular to David and his family and to Stephen as they mourn the death of Marie.
We met Marie and Garth through Marie's sister, Isabel. Before long we were invited to join in social events with Marie and her sisters and families. How fortunate we were as the dinners and parties were such fun with their creative themes. The memories are unforgettable. We thought of Marie as a friend and she has left us with lovely memories. Our sympathy to David, Casey and family and to Stephen.
Marie walked alongside us during the year when our daughter was battling against a disease that threatened her life. Her many demonstrations of love and care helped to see her through.
On behalf of the Latin America Mission, Canada family, I want to express my condolences to family and friends on this sad news of Marie's passing. We in the LAM appreciated her support and friendship as she loved and assisted her husband Garth, who served as our executive director for many years. We celebrate that she is now in the nearer presence of her Lord and Saviour.
Kevin Livingston Chair of the Board, Latin America Mission, Canada
My memories of Marie started over 60 years ago in the "meeting", and have continued until recently including Christian Teacher's Fellowship and Rexdale Alliance Church. She was a very enthusiastic supporter and contributor to the Christian Teacher's Fellowship in North York while she taught and in retirement. I value the memories of Marie and Garth as well as her mother, Jessie, Fred, Isobel and Ray very much.
As an administrative staff person at the mission Garth directed for many, many years, I had the privilege of meeting Marie in that context. I enjoyed her company at mission dinners and other special events. Her love for the Lord and His work was always very evident. I appreciated her strength of character and her wit. She will be missed. Condolences to her family and friends and grace to us all in the days ahead as we remember Marie.
Marie was a kind and loving sister-in-law to me. Dan and I had many happy memories with her and Garth. It usually involved food, getting together for birthdays, Christmas parties or meeting at our favourite restaurants. She took a real interest in our children and always made sure she sent birthday cards to them. She will be missed very much by all of us. Sending my love and prayers to Stephen, David and Casey and their family. Lynda Wilson
