Marie was the daughter of Clarence and Martha Houston, who instilled in her the values of kindness and perseverance that would guide her throughout her life. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Martha, as well as her sibling Patricia Houston and Husband William Jack Moss. Despite the deep sense of loss, her spirit will continue to shine brightly through her family.
In her early years, Marie pursued her education at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management. This accomplishment laid the foundation for a remarkable career as a Realtor in the Charlotte, NC area, where she dedicated over 30 years to helping families find their dream homes. Her work was not merely a profession; it was a passion that allowed her to connect with people from all walks of life.
On August 16, 1995, Marie married the love of her life, Jack Moss. Their union was a testament to true companionship, marked by mutual respect and unwavering support. Together, they built a life filled with joy and adventure, and Marie embraced her role as a stepmother to Robert Moss and step Grandmother to Makayla and Jarod Moss. She cherished these relationships deeply, often expressing how grateful she was to have welcomed them into her heart.
Marie was a longtime member of Whiting Avenue Baptist Church, where she found community and fellowship. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and interactions with others. She was known for her warm smile and open heart, welcoming everyone with a genuine interest in their lives.
Life for Marie was richly colored by her love of nature and art.
