Marianne's obituary
Marianne Tereszcuk, a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on March 27, 2023. Born on February 17, 1950, in Philadelphia, PA, she lived a full and vibrant life. She is survived by her loving husband Alex, her daughter Alexis, son Evan, son-in-law Larry and grandson Maxwell.
Marianne was a proud alumnus of the University of Virginia, where she earned her degree in 1985. She had a passion for gardening, becoming a Master Gardener in North Carolina and volunteered with the Garden Club. Marianne was an award-winning photographer, having her photos of a duck on the water published in the Charlottesville newspaper The Daily Progress. She won second place in a photography contest in Greensboro, North Carolina for her beautiful images of nature.
Marianne was an avid traveler, thrilled to visit France, Italy and Spain, and always marked her children's birthdays with tropical vacations where sunburns were ever present.
She was an exceptional mother to Alexis and Evan, enthusiastically supporting them in their adventures and laughing when she was the one who had to get a ride home in a police car after a particularly strenuous Christmas bike ride on Sanibel Island. Marianne was a devoted wife to Alex, happily celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary surrounded by friends and family in August 2022.
When her grandson Maxwell was born in July 2014 she and Alex moved to Los Angeles to spend every day with him. As his "Sweetie," she cherished their time together - reading to him, teaching him to paint, giving him endless hugs and reveling in the knowledge that she was his closest confidant. Sweetie thoroughly encouraged and indulged his absolute love of gum.
Throughout her life, Marianne touched the lives of many with her infectious laughter and unyielding love for her friends and family. She always remembered birthdays and found the perfect card and present to mark a special occasion.
A memorial service for Marianne will be held on May 7, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Alexis's home at 855 South Highland Ave. in Los Angeles. A celebration will be held in Philadelphia at a later date. Please join us in celebrating the incredible life of our beloved Marianne, who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
