Marian's obituary

Marian Ann Wilson, aka Yaya, Mum, or Marina, passed away on April 7th. She is lovingly remembered by her partner of 25 years, Munch; her children, Marty and Sarah; and her cherished grandson, Damian. She is also survived by her three brothers, along with many dear friends and extended family members who will miss her greatly.

Marina was born in Atlantic City and raised in Brigantine, New Jersey. She spent many years working as a waitress at the Pony Club and EJ’s before eventually moving to Rhode Island, where she became a lunch lady at a local elementary school. No matter the kids money status, Marina made sure every child was well fed.

Anyone who knew her understood that she was never afraid to speak her mind or ruffle a few feathers—one of the many things that made her so memorable and genuine. She’s drawn to all things mystical—crystals, energy, and a little bit of magic—balanced with a deep love for vintage rock.
