Marian Louise Whalen (née Lytle) passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025, in Newmarket, Ontario, at the age of 86.

Born on September 25, 1939, in Arnprior, Ontario, Marian dedicated her life to education and family. She worked as an elementary school teacher, shaping young minds with patience and care. Her commitment to learning extended beyond the classroom and remained a lifelong passion.

Marian found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was a great cook, and an avid fan of sports and music. Her love for words was evident in her enthusiasm for spelling bee contests, trivia challenges, and crossword puzzles. Daytime television provided her with daily entertainment, and she cherished quiet moments spent with her beloved cats, Amber and Buddy.

She will be deeply missed by her sons, Shawn (Kathy) and Boyne, as well as her grandchildren, Zachary and Aubrey. Marian was predeceased by mother Rae, father Allan, siblings, Donald, Peggy, Robert, and Jack

May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her.
