

Mariama's obituary
Mariama “Puddie” Onattua was born in Omaha, Nebraska to Adsila Mariama Onattua and James Lucas Jones on November 15th, 1930. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and took on a great role in her church at First Baptist Church of Indianapolis.
Mariama was moved by her mother and father at age 6 from Nebraska to Indiana where she attended Ernie Pyle School 90 on the west side of Indy. She later attended and graduated from Crispus Attacks school and eventually went back to be a school administrator.
Mariama “Puddie” as her grandchildren and kids like to call her, loved knitting and crocheting. She often taught her granddaughters when they would stay over as young girls.
Mariama leaves behind her cherishing memories. Her one and only son, Raymond Bannon III (Sharron). Sisters, Iyann Igor (Poal), Kinesse Jones-Onattua. Brothers, James L. Jones Jr. (Elle) and Ellis Jones (Shannon). Grand daughters Rae’onna Mechelle Bannon & Raniyah Leigh Bannon. Grandson Raymond L. Bannon IV. One great granddaughter Juele-Vivian Thomas and two great grandson Jah’Lee-Hanan Bannon and Jaide Lindsay Combs. A host of nieces, nephews and dearly loved cousins, relatives and extended family.
She is preceeded in death by both parents. James Lucas Jones and Adsila Mariama Onattua.
