Maria's obituary
Maria Del Rosario Tanaka Sanchez, a beloved mother, nana, daughter, sister, aunt, and cousin, passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and joy.
Born in Morelia, Michoacán, to Gloria Martha Sanchez and Antonio Medina, Maria grew up surrounded by family, laughter, and traditions that shaped her kind and generous spirit. She was deeply devoted to her family, especially her six children—Juan Carlos Sanchez (Krista), Martha Edge (Joseph), Eato Tanaka, Myduen Livorsi (David), Yoshi Tanaka, and Lee Tanaka—who were the center of her world.
Maria was also a proud and loving nana to her 13 grandchildren, who were truly her heart and soul: Nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with them and showering them with unconditional love.
She had a zest for life and a vibrant spirit that touched everyone around her. Maria loved to dance, listen to music, and express herself through her sense of style—whether it was doing her hair and makeup or embracing her love for fashion. She was always the life of the party, bringing joy, laughter, and warmth wherever she went. Maria also opened her heart and home to everyone—especially her children’s friends, whom she welcomed as if they were her own.
She is survived by her two sisters and one brother, whom she loved dearly, along with her extended family and countless friends who will miss her warmth and presence.
Maria del Rosario Tanaka Sanchez will be remembered as a devoted mother, a joyful grandmother, and a woman who lived life with grace, love, and beauty. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
