Maritzie was a true friend and wonderful, smart and loving person.
We feel honored to have known Maria - her commitment to making the world a better place was and will continue to be a true inspiration.  Sending heartfelt condolences to Michael and family. Peace and love,  Andrea & Chris

I knew Maritzie when we were teenagers back in Manila, and I used to hang out at her home on weekends, discussing philosophy, books, democracy, etc., and had many good laughs. She had such a sharp mind and a biting wit, which I loved. I knew she would find her purpose and make a meaningful difference somewhere. A few years ago, we reconnected, and, because I live in New Jersey, we talked about getting together and meeting each other's "spice" (as she put it). And a few months ago, when we talked, she sounded optimistic. My condolences to her family.
We were terribly saddened to learn that Maritzie had passed. We have many fond memories of being together starting so long ago at 491 State Street. We send our love and best wishes to Michael and Cristina.
Mike, we were shocked and saddened to read of Maritzie's passing. You have our deepest sympathies.
Maria was a social justice hero.  Her passion for the immigrant cause was an inspiration, as was her resolve to help those facing hardship.   What a gift it was to have her among us.
Maria was one of the early members of the Coalition for Safe Communities, and I and others will always remember her quiet but determined voice as she spoke out for justice for vulnerable persons. I am grateful to have known her for these years, and for her peaceful passing into God's arms.
Ichibu as your Dad called you, rest in peace with Our Lord. Your cousin Letty.
Maritzie is a compassionate and enduring friend.  I will miss her.  My deepest condolences to Michael and family.
I was so sorry to hear about Maria’s passing. She was a dedicated fellow member of the Cape Cod Coalition for Safe Communities and good friend over many years. God rest her soul.

The black and white photo in which Maria is laughing touches my heart and exemplifies for me the upbeat, thoughtful way she shared her insights with us.  She has been a friend and an inspirational co-worker in the fight for justice.   We will miss her presence, but we will carry her spirit with us as we move forward.

Michael, may our shared memories lighten you sorrow in these difficult moments.

My heart and thoughts are filled with many wonderful memories of Maritzie over the many years before and after becoming a member of our family.  Maritzie was strong in her faith, intelligent, courageous and passionate about any cause that she was involved in, and there were many.  She was kind, loving, patient and her laughter was contagious.  I admired her respected her, and I loved her.  M and M were a good team whose love story was amazing to witness over the years.  I miss her, my dear sister in law.  God bless you, Martizie.  You have left a beautiful and inspiring legacy behind.  Thank you.
