The Lord has called Maria Otilia Robertshaw home on March 9th, 2025.

Maria was born July 25th, 1942 to the Parents of Ana and Francisco Vargas in the Azores Islands of Portugal. At the young age of 15, Maria came to the United States as a Disaster refuge. Maria worked very hard to learn the English language and pridefully gain her United States citizenship. Maria continued to work hard throughout her life and became a legend in Modesto, Ca after working for Save Mart Supermarkets for many years.

Maria tragically lost her first Husband, Jose DaRosa, at the age of 27 where she worked hard to raise her 4 year old son, Michael DaRosa, as a single mother. Maria later found love again and married Charles Robertshaw, where they created a wonderful life together, filled with many wonderful memories of traveling and spending time with their Grandchildren.

Maria was loved and cared for by so many that had the pleasure of knowing her, she especially loved her only child, Michael DaRosa, her Grandchildren Jennifer DaRosa, Michael DaRosa, Steven DaRosa and her great grand children, Michael DaRosa, Allyson DaRosa and Ada Jane (AJ) DaRosa.

A viewing and funeral services will be held at Franklin & Downs Funeral home, 1050 McHenry Ave

Modesto, CA 95350

Viewing and services will begin at 10am to 12PM followed by a private service at San Joaquin Valley Veterans Cemetery.
