Maria "Nonna" Repp, 87, of Irmo, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on January 30th, 2026, surrounded by her family. Maria was predeceased by her parents, Aurelio and Maria Strim, siblings, Flora Denton, Ray and Frank Strim, and loving husband, Melvin Alfred Repp. She is survived by sister Lucia Reyer, and children, Mark (Paulette) Repp, Donna (Tom) Kelly, Diana (Dennis) Frick, and Bryan (Kimberly) Repp.

Maria was born on January 3rd, 1939, in Delaware, and was raised in Baltimore, Maryland. She was the youngest of five children. She was free-spirited and enjoyed writing poems (in backwards cursive, yes, I said backwards AND in cursive), reading, cooking, and raising her wonderful family. Maria and Melvin Alfred “Al” Repp met in high school where the two fell in love and later had 4 beautiful children. Being both a mother and a wife were two of the most important parts of Maria’s life. These roles gave her the utmost pride and joy. She poured her compassion and selfless way of living into every aspect of her life. She was blessed with 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was an amazing Nonna; passionate, witty, and had the best sense of humor. She loved kicking our butts in cards and calling us a “low-lying lily-livered snake in the grass” if we somehow beat her. Always laughing and smiling, Nonna was living proof that laughter is the best medicine.

She will be greatly missed, leaving an unfillable void in our hearts.

A private service will be held on a later date to honor her memory. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Maria’s name to Skyline Ridge Nursing & Rehabilitation center in Canon City, CO.
