Maria's obituary

Maria Antonia Padilla Moore was born in San German, Puerto Rico to a family of 10 siblings. After high school, she attended vocational school for administrative assistant training, then worked at the Digital Electronics Factory. She met and married the love of her life, Arthur E. Moore, who was a boat captain for hire in the Caribbean. She spent the next year of her life sailing the seas, in what she described to be one of the best times of her life, living off the ocean and exploring the islands of the Caribbean. Upon discovering that she was pregnant, she settled in Miami to start her new family, including two step children and what would become four children of her own.

One of the most meaningful moments of her life was becoming a born again Christian. She loved Christ with her whole being and was a pillar of faith for her family. She was an avid member of Words of Life Church, where she volunteered in the church nursery, actively participated in the Friday prayer group, and helped maintain church cleanliness for several years. She was regularly active in the street ministry on the weekends where she would minister to the homeless in various locations throughout Miami. She attended university classes at the church to obtain a Diploma of Theology, which she was proud to accomplish in her time there. Finally, she was filled with joy, awe, and inspiration when she took the opportunity to travel to Costa Rica on a church mission trip.

She was a mother to many and had an affinity for helping those who who found themselves in a hopeless situation with acts of service. A caretaker in every sense, she aimed to make any situation better than she found it.

She leaves to cherish in her memory her daughters Michelle, Cheryl and Sasha: her son Daryl: her step son Forrest: her step daughters Dove and Andrea: and a host of other family members and cherished friends.
