Maria was a cornerstone of our Wakefield Road community in the early 2000s-2010s. Her kindness was a welcome reprieve during middle school carpool rushes, misplaced house key fiascos, summer-storm-induced power outages, or just general neighbor queries. I grew up with Lucy, and my memories of our childhood adventures are infused with the image of Maria welcoming me into their home with open arms. Any coming and going between our homes was met with a “call when you get home safe!” or “we’ll call when we make it home!” which highlighted both Maria’s humor (the homes were across the street) - and more subtly - the care for others she embodied. My heart is with Ron, Lucy, and all of Maria’s loved ones.
