I was 12 when I first met Maria and my baby cousin Carlita. Later, when Caleb came along, I remember feeling so excited to meet him too. Maria always had a way of making everyone feel welcomed and seen. She was always genuinely happy to see me and never without a smile through the years.

I’m praying deeply for my cousins and for Maria’s family during this incredibly difficult time. You’re all in my heart and prayers. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if there’s anything you need.

My Tia took cared for me in h…
My Tia took cared for me in her way and took me in for a summer when I was a kid because I didn’t wanna be home. During that summer she noticed I was reading a lot so she took me to get glasses so I my eyes wouldn’t strain so much. She took this picture of us that day when we were in the waiting room. She took me to my music summer classes everyday of the week for the time I stayed with her that summer. She showed me love, compassion, and made me laugh all the time. May she rest in peace.

My tia showed me love and always made me feel included when both of my parents were absent
She showed me a lot of love and she always believed in me and supported I really appreciate her for that May she rest in peace I’ll miss her very much
