Heartfelt condolences to the family of Mari - her husband, children, siblings and to her mother and stepfather, Toots and Bill Foy.

Dear Mark And Family,

I am so deeply sorry for your loss. I worked with Mari on a project at the U of C many years ago and was immediately drawn to her warm smile and presence. I will never forget her beautiful smile and am loving the photos posted here. May her beautiful memories be engrained in you heart.

Oh, Mari, so sad to lose you.  Will miss your saucy, spicy observations and your solidarity with the women around you, and your fierce protection of all you held dear….and your fabulous artisanal pies!  May your strong, loving spirit sustain your daughters throughout their lives!  Condolences to Mark, Fiona & Maeve, and all Mari’s family—what a painful, sudden loss!  Mari, you are missed, missed, and missed again by us all

Dear Mark, Fiona and Maeve, and the broader Egan and Potter Families, We send our deepest condolences for the loss of Mari. It is an incomparable loss for you, but as well for all of the people and communities she touched and inspired with her humanity, warmth and drive to change and improve the "status quo" in so many realms. I was so incredibly lucky to have the opportunity to get to know Mari through an educational collaboration with Wuhan University. She was instrumental in building Wuhan's Family Medicine clerkship, and for that, she traveled many times there. I will forever remember Mari for her dedication to her students, her kind spirit, selflessness and affectionate smile. I am mourning with you Mark, Maeve and Fiona. My deepest condolences.

Dear Mark, Maeve and Fiona,

I am so deeply sorry for your loss.  I was paired with Mari as a new medical student and she a practicing attending.  Her compassion and commitment were an inspiration to me during our time together and I became a family physician as well.  She was a bright light to everyone lucky enough to be around her.  I am so honored to have known her.   Wishing you all peace and love.

Dear Mark, Fiona, and Maeve,
We were so sad to hear of the loss of your dear Mari.
She was such a kind and special soul.
Sending you all love at this difficult time.

I'll miss Mari forever.  She became a central part of every Potter event.  Her energy, her beliefs, her kindness, her knowledge, her fierce intelligence.  She made my life better in too many ways to list.
Dear Mark, Maeve, Fiona - I will cherish my memories of Mari throughout my life and will miss her dearly.  I enjoyed the fun and affection she brought to our lives as kids, then greatly admired  how accomplished and caring she was as we grew up.  Her sparkling, infectious laugh would always lift me. I hope you’ll find solace in your loving memories. Wishing you peace and comfort.
We are incredibly saddened by your loss and grief. May your God hold you all with fondest of memories.  Mari was very kind, even in the midst of chaos. Truly a blessing for your lifetimes, and ours.
So sorry for your loss. My condolences to Mark and family. I haven’t seen Mari since she graduated from our MHPE program over 20 years ago. Her thesis work on teaching students to solicit feedback by asking questions that promote thinking was timely and enduring; I’ve often referenced her work during my teaching and at conferences. My thoughts are with you Mark and your family during these difficult times.   Sincerely, Georges Bordage
