Mari Jo (Slenk) Boss, 62, of Holland, MI passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on March 18, 2025 in Crystal River, FL.

Mari was a graduate of Holland Christian High School and a former employee of Gentex Corporation, Eagle Transport, and Hospice of Holland. One of the places that she was happiest was in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, where she was a fixture at Michihistrigan.

Mari found joy in the every day, and was deeply loved by everyone who knew her. She was generous of spirit and exceedingly kind. No matter where she was in the state or the country, her family was always at the forefront of her mind. She was a remarkable mother, grandmother and friend, and her absence will most certainly leave a deep void in the hearts of all who called her a friend or family.

Mari was preceded in death by her loving parents Bob and Trudi Slenk and her sister Kristi Timmer. She is survived by her brother Al (Alyson) Slenk and her children; Mike (Cait McClelland) Boss, Scott (Malia) Boss, and Ashley (Blake) Berry. Mari was the proud grandmother to 8 grandchildren; Oliver, Harrison, Sophia, Simon, Cambry, Julian, Jonah, and Vienna. She will be dearly missed by her significant other of over 10 years, Bruce Hassevoort, along with countless friends who became just like family.

The family would also like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at Tampa General Hospital - Crystal River and Vitas Hospice who cared for Mari with dignity and respect in her final days.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date when Mari is returned to Michigan. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Hospice of Holland, an organization that was forever close to Mari and her family's hearts.
