Margo's obituary
Margo was born on December 23, 1968 to Harry Edward Powell and Ellen Marie Bruhn in Belvidere, IL. She graduated from Belvidere High School in 1987 and went on to graduate from Rock Valley College in 1999 with an Associates in Business in hopes to start a bakery with her mother.
Although the bakery didn't happen, after graduation she moved on to work in various positions; from a cashier at a gas station, a packer/ assembler at a warehouse to a management position in a bakery. She favored positions where she was in contact with the public, to share laughs and hear their stories; for she enjoyed being a small part in their daily lives.
In 1991, she gave birth to her first born child Jacob Mitchell Powell, 28, son of Mark Phillip Dunbar and in 1994, she gave birth to her second child Hailey Marie Powell, 26, daughter of Steve Dougherty. She served as a strong, independent, single mother who will forever be proud of the children she raised and will love her children more than they will ever know. In 2014, Margo was blessed with her grandson Domenik Powell, son of Jacob Powell and Jenise Herring(Kerry Ryan) and took on the role of grandmother enthusiastically. Domenik was the apple of her eye, her little buddy and her best friend; she will always cherish the memories of Thomas the Train, riding bikes and playing at the parks together.
Margo was predeceased by her mother Ellen Lindstrom, father Harry Powell, father-in-law Donald Lindstrom, her brother-in-law Edward Magoon(Marla Magoon), paternal grandmother Florence Powell, maternal grandmother Helen Bruhn and nephew Jarrett Powell.
She is survived by her two children Jacob Powell and Hailey Powell, grandson Domenik Powell, brother Martin Powell(Laura Durham), nephew Erick Powell, grandniece Carly Powell, nephew Kyle Powell(Alyssa Rohn), Kendra Lindsay, sister Marla Magoon, niece Ashley Powell(Jonathan Gray), niece Casey Powell(Chris Spangler), uncle Steve Posey and two life-long friends that were practically family: Cat Ellsworth and Donette Takala.
A loving mother, a grandson's bestfriend, a sister, a daughter, a lover and friend; we will love and miss you so much, until we meet again.
The family requests that all flowers and notes are sent to 11278 Joncey Rd, Roscoe, IL 61073. There will be a memorial service at The American Legion on March 20th, 2021 from 11AM-2AM, food will be catered by TBD.
