Some people's hero are their mother or father or some celebrities. My hero will always be my grandmother, whose smile taught me to to be the happiest I can with life. Whose heart taught me to care for everyone I come into contact with like they were part of my own family. Her intelligence which taught me to take education to the sky and higher to try to learn everything we can to make us good people. And whose love that I've felt from my birth till the day I die. My Maw maw will always be my hero and most loved person in heart.
Janet, Mary, Cheryl, and Gail,
I remember Margie as being an exceptional person. She was loving, kind, talented, and a lot of fun to be with. I always wanted to have the opportunity to spend more time with her. I will remember her always.
Gail, Cheryl, Mary, and Janet (and the rest of you): your Mother had a larger than life personality—but you already knew that. She was as effervescent as champagne and as musical as Cecelia Bartoli. She was kind and sweet and always smiling. She was a joy to be around. I remember when she sang at Stella’s memorial. She always had an appropriate song ready for any occasion. It was so very moving. I also remember how she “held court” and loved having dinner at Rosario’s with her wonderful, big family. Oh, she will be terribly missed, but oh, what a wonderful, memorable life she lived. May She Rest In Peace.

I have many fond memories but several stick in my mind. One of them was of Margie and Flora Mae performing on TV in the early 1950's. Our whole family watched this special event on our 1950 Philco TV. Another memory was after Margie and Bob got married in 1955, they visited Galveston and I had a wonderful all day experience showing them Galveston Island proudly at age of 15yrs.old. Margie sang like an angel and now she is one.
Prayers, J.E. and Carol Tramonte

Anthony Venza - "Gant Girls, I have a special memory of your Mom. Your Mom and I share the same birth month and day. When I was about six years old (over sixty years ago) Aunt Dora decided to have a joint Birthday party for Margie and me. She decorated half the cake one way and the other half another way. What I remember most is Margie being so nice and sweet. Love, Anthony

Gant Girls,

I had the pleasure of knowing both your Mom and Dad and have many great memories. Mine go back to when they lived in Port Arthur and I would visit. I can remember the great Acquariums in the apartment. I also went to school in High Island, one day, with your Mom to play the piano for her music classes when I was very young. Margie and Bob were great cousins and I always had the opportunity to speak with both, especially our family celebrations. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this difficult time. Jan and Sammy
I wasn't fortunate enough to spend a lot of time with Margie, but the times I was around her she was always kind, friendly and such a joy to be around! I remember how she brightened up a room with her conversation and laughter. Melissa and I send our condolences to the Gant girls and all who were so very close to her. She had a long and joyous life and left many great memories for her family and friends. Peace and Love, Chad Norton
To the Gant girls...you have all been so blessed by having Miss Margie as your mother. She taught you all the core meaning of love they neighbor and most certainly yourself and your family. She gave so much joy to others throughout her entire life. Her memory and heart will be felt by many across the world for a long time to come. Wish we could be physically with you, but you all have our hearts and prayers! Love, Debbie Wasikowski
