Margie Ann Drummond Linger, aged 88 years, of Wheeling, West Virginia, passed from this life on October 4, 2018. Margie was a devoted mother to her children, a loving sister to her siblings and a dear companion to all she befriended. Born September 17, 1930 to Myrtle and Myron Drummond in Barboursville, WV, she attended Marshall University and studied Music, further training her beautiful soprano singing voice. She also worked at Sylvania Products as a clerk typist.

It was at Marshall where she met Ottis Linger, Jr., a football player on the “Thundering Herd.” She and Ottis married 1950 and had three children. She was a resident of Wheeling, WV from 1967 to her death; living at 1308 Steerod Avenue, Wheeling, WV, 14 Damian Road, 1414 National Road. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church at 1232 National Road, Wheeling, WV.

She was predeceased by her parents, Myron and Myrtle, her sister, Jean Wutke, her brother Myron Henry Drummond, her son, Ronald Allen Linger and her granddaughter, Michelle Lee Linger. She is survived by her son, Roger Craig Linger and his wife Rebecca (Sissonville, WV), her daughter Brenda Joy Downey and her husband Don (Hollywood, FL), several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and several nieces and cousins.
