It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margarete Stark, age 72, on Sunday, January 1, 2023. Margarete was born in San Antonio, TX on February 24, 1950 and spent her childhood in Dundalk, MD, where she developed a passion for painting and became a professional sign painter. Born and raised as a Jehovah's Witness, Margarete remained devoted to her faith throughout her life.

Margarete eventually moved to the Eastern Shore, where she raised a family and owned her own nail salon. She was known for her talent as a nail artist, winning numerous awards for her work. In addition to her professional pursuits, Margarete loved entertaining and hosting gatherings at her home. She also loved to spend her leisure time fishing and crabbing.

Margarete was predeceased by her father, Bonna Lee Templer, mother, Ursula Templer Shipley, and mother-in-law, Elgarda Stark. She is survived by her husband, Ralph Stark, sister, Katherine Templer, and four children: Frederick Schultz III, Daniel Schultz, Christel (Schultz) Casteel, and Jessica (Stark) Vrabec. Margarete was also a proud grandmother to Maci Schultz, Jacob Schultz, Caleb Schultz, Isaac Nichols, Emily Nichols, Christian Vrabec, and Gabriel Vrabec, as well as a great-grandson, Asher Daniel Schultz.

A memorial service for Margarete will be held on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at 5:00 PM at the Fruitland Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses (202 Moonglow Rd, Fruitland, MD 21826).
