Midge was my cousin, but I didn't really know her growing up. We lived far away and were separated in age by a decade or two. She reached out to my sister and me during the pandemic and we were glad to hear from her. Our mom (her Aunt) loved her dearly, so getting to know her a bit was wonderful in itself but also gave another connection to our mom. My experiences with Midge were filled with family connection, love and humor and am grateful for the opportunity to know her. I am sending love to all her family members and friends.

Midge and I met and continued to stay in touch over Zoom for a few years. She attended group as well as private Buddhist teaching and meditation sessions that I lead.
In our time together, Midge never discussed any of the work she did in helping others around the globe. Instead, her concern and questions to me were about learning to increase and share kindness, love, and compassion with her family, friends, and everyone close to her. She commented how easy it is for us to help persons from other communities, and how sometimes it can be challenging to be genuinely loving, understanding, and kind towards those closer to us.
Midge was a woman of great intelligence, strength and humor. She was loving, kind, and compassionate, yet her true strength and humanity was her wish to increase these positive, constructive, beneficial human qualities and share them with all beings, near and far.

Although I knew Midge very briefly, she definitely impacted my short time with her, in a good way. She was already an active Volunteer at Southwest Medical Hospice when I joined the team, becoming one of my "go-to's" as I learned how to navigate in my new role. To my relief, she was quick to accept last-minute assignments but also enjoyed her wkly pt visit, w/Francis, which continued for an entire year (unheard of in Hospice, actually) and who ironically passed 4 short days before Midge!
I enjoyed her sense of humor which she usually relayed to me via emojis and very spirited comments. She also introduced me to her spiritual side, inviting me to read some of her work. My absolute favorite memory tho, was when she agreed to let me join her in bidding pt Francis farewell, as Midge was then about to embark on her relocation to Laguna Beach. Since Francis had COVID at the time, Midge and I visited her at her bedroom window, with the window cracked as we sang to her, chatted and then waved goodbye. Midge had also taken the time to create a beautiful poster for Francis, which her husband tells us he placed in front of her bed so she could see it every day.
Truly an amazing woman who I wish I'd known longer but will always be remembered!

I was just in Hawaii and felt Midge's presence. I thought I saw her a few times. These images reminded me of her and her casual, confident, and sassy self. I miss her dearly.
