Margaret's obituary
Margaret Rose Starnes died unexpectedly on Friday, January 30, 2026 after a long, difficult struggle. Through it all, Maggie Rose knew-though she often doubted she deserved it-that she was loved fully, and without condition, by the Lord, her family and friends.
Margaret was born on December 9, 1992, and was lovingly placed in the care of James Starnes and Denise Daniel Starnes, who became her devoted parents from that day forward. From the beginning, she also claimed a central place in the heart of her big brother, Luke Starnes. During her adolescence, Maggie came to know and love her birth mother, Denna, and Denna's husband, James, and was delighted to discover her siblings, David and Faith Glass. She developed a special bond with Faith and David that will be eternal.
Her family and loved ones celebrated with her in times of joy and connection, and ached for her at other times when she would disappear from our lives. We held hope for her healing and the return of her contagious spark. Maggie's life reminds us of the deep humanity of those who suffer, and of the enduring power of love in the face of illness.
Margaret was preceded in death by her grandparents, Stancil Rose Starnes, Mary Starnes Beal, Ed T Beal, and Janice Fuqua, and her mother, Denise Daniel. She is mourned by her father, James H. Starnes, her step-mother Elizabeth Nelson Starnes; her grandfather, Edward Daniel; her brother, Stancil Luke Starnes (Maureen) and their children Sarah and John Luke; her birth mother Denna Glass (James), and their children David, Faith and Brooklyn; her husband, Brandon Sisk; and their beloved son, Jackson Liam Sisk, who is blessedly in the care of his aunt and uncle, Lauren Sisk and Dan Garcia. She will be forever remembered with love by the many Starnes, Daniels, and Sisk aunts, uncles, and cousins whose lives were indelibly marked by her presence.
Maggie Rose loved her Jackson with all her heart and soul, and she will be forever with him as he grows into adulthood. His accomplishments will be many because of her. Jackson's resilience and strength have been amazing during this time of loss. God is good.
We mourn the loss of Maggie Rose but know that she is now fully known by Christ and will be fully healed by him. Her struggle is over and she is in a better place. Thanks be to God.
A memorial service will be held on February 28, 2026, at 11:30 AM at Pell City First United Methodist Church, 2200 3rd Avenue North. We ask that donations in Maggie's memory be directed to Camp Sumatanga, https://sumatanga.org.
