Margie's obituary

Margaret Ruth Cron Martin, (age 52), of Brighton, passed away on May 2, 2025 in her home surrounded by family.

Margie, as she was affectionately known, was born March 16, 1973 in Dayton, Ohio. Her birth date being special as it was one of her favorite scriptures, “For God so loved the World that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16. She was raised in Utica, Michigan where she and her siblings had a happy childhood. She graduated from Utica High School and then left home to attend Eastern Michigan University to obtain her Music Therapy Degree. She then went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Counseling from Oakland University. She was a Hospice Grief Support Services Manager for 25 years. Margie will be remembered for all the people she counseled after a significant loss.

Margie also had a love and passion for music. She sang in choirs and played the french horn in H.S. and through college making lasting musical friendships along the way. She played the guitar and enjoyed singing as a way of expressing herself. She will be remembered fondly for the family Christmas Sing-a-longs she hosted. Where family and friends gathered in the warmth of the season to share joy, laughter and song.

Margie met the love of her life Brian and they married in 2002. She loved him deeply and would often express how lucky she was to find such a good man and father who had a wonderful sense of humor and was a great hugger. Margie was most proud of her children Ben, Eli & Jenna who are loving, thoughtful and good. They built a beautiful family life together full of laughter and love. Many of her happiest memories are family travels visiting places in Michigan, the US and abroad. Watching happiness come across the faces of her children brought her such immense joy. Those who knew Margie will remember her for her warm heart, her deep faith in God, her ability to find joy in the small things and her unwavering commitment to spreading love and kindness to everyone she encountered. One might say Margie never knew a stranger.

Margie is survived by her husband Brian Martin of 23 years; mother Dr. Elyce Cron.; her children Ben Martin, Eli Martin and Jenna Martin; her siblings Kate (John) Griswold; Jen (Bill) Ross; Chazz (Anne) Cron; Mother-in-Love, Nancy Webster (Mike); Sister-in-Love Samantha (Matt) Dziurman; her nieces and nephews Emily (Austin) Martinez, Annie (Daniel) Griswold, Nancy Ross, DJ Ross, Logan (Elissa) Murphy, Julie Ross, MaryAlex Ross, Liz Cron, Lexi Cron; and her great-nephew Avery.
