Mrs Grinder was always giving tirelessly of her time, energy, help. I saw how much she gave & gave to her daughter Ellens Dance Co. I was privileged to go to performances and see firsthand all the work she put into all aspects of the production. Seeing how much the girls, the students, their parents loved and appreciated all she did and gave was so heartwarming and amazing. She was always trying to find a way to make things better, brighter for anyone who needed it. Everyone loved her and her huge heart and desire to help and give. She gave so much to me in friendship, knowledge, humor, fellowship. She is dearly missed, but will always be remembered. Definitely Hope springs eternal with Mrs Grinder, never could bring myself to call her Peg, as known her since a child. She was there for me when I was ill, and still to this day read my Chicken Soup for the Christian Soul. She help lift my hurt, find laughter, and remember, even though never said.by word, that God will always be with me. Teaching Sunday School for a while before she left it in my hands, she taught me so much about being humble, coming to God as a child, remembering that when I taught. Love her so much, brought me to a place of love, forever friendship, sense of humor, finding how much it helps get us through.
In response to "What act of kindness did you witness from Peg?"
There are so many stories to share. Being with Peggy was always a fun, fond memories. I loved our Sundays together teaching preschool and kindergarten Sunday School. We loved the Bible lessons and sharing them, teaching them in creative ways that brought the message to their level of understanding, using props, having fun acting lessons out. Also, my fun times alone with her was going to Friendlys,, unfortunately no longer around. Wed chat and HAD to have a hot fudge sundae for dessert. The best part was she insisted it came with cherry on top. If it came without one, she'd ask for one. Wasn't a sundae without one. The funniest part was that she'd then take the cherry off and not eat it, didn't like them. Always made me laugh. What a character! Lots of fun to be with. A joy to share small talk and subjects of importance.
From Betsy: I am sure Peggy is dancing among the stars. She was a wonderful sister.
Peggy does it 💙 love from a cna never dies. It was a pleasure being able to meet an help her when needed. xoxo peggy & dick, you guys both are so pure.
While there is not one particular story I have of Peg that stands out, my overwhelming and powerful thought is how much we looked to her each and every day when we came to the studio. Her presence was there to keep us all on pace with necessary paperwork that we needed to turn in, to pop into our classes to make us smile, to support us when we were having an off day and so much more. The biggest way she contributed to us all, however, was by gracing us with her amazing daughter, Ellen. I could go on and on for days about her yet because this is about Peg, I will keep that in my heart. Just know, Peg-a-licious, that you did an OUTSTANDING job as her Mom and raised one incredible human. We know you will be watching down on us from above and please know that you will ALWAYS be remembered with such reverence and love. 💗 Rest In Peace sweet Peg.
Our deepest condolences to Dick and Ellen. Peg was one of my Mom's best friends. I just know they're sharing coffee and donuts and laughing up a storm up in heaven right now!
Peg your kindness to one and all will always be fondly remembered by the Farnsworth family. Ellen thank you for sharing your Mom- the world was a brighter place for it as she greeted everyone she met with her loving smile. Our deepest condolences to the Grinder Family.
Such a lovely tribute in honor of a wonderful woman who loved all of us. We all love Peg, forever.
I can remember being in a jazz class when I was in 3rd(ish) grade and Miss Peg came in to do one of her many duties. Miss Gilda introduced her to our class as Peggy-Poo, and it has stuck with me for the last 25 years. I had been used to seeing her smiling face in the office, but now I KNEW her. This lead to an experience of bigger smiles, cute nicknames, and blown kisses from the other side of the door. I will always associate my first dance home as being the place that gave me Miss Peg 💕
Every time I see someone go out of there way to smile and be kind, I will think of Peg. She was an absolutely beautiful spirit inside and out. I’ll never forget the smile on her face whenever she got to see Ellen teach and dance ❤️
I first met Peg through DMDC. She was that happy face in the office window after climbing to the third floor with Sera by the hand and Sayda on my hip. Many times she would run out and grab Sayda who was slipping out of my arms. I remember Peg as helpful, humorous, happy and always, always, always on a mission to what was right by students, parents, and families. I will always remember watching her watch “The No Retired Dancers” dance and the joy they brought to her. My grand-daughter Adele had the privilege to bring joy to Peg as Adele joined her Mom Sayda in a few dances for the residents of Bayberry in Tewksbury. A beautiful gift. I thank you Peg Grinder for you, for your daughter Ellen, for everything. Rest In Peace Grande Dame.
