Mrs Boyd taught me to read in kindergarten at Forest Edge. I have wonderful memories of sitting with her sounding out words. She was so patient and kind ❤️

Mrs. Boyd. Where do I even begin? You've been an important fixture in my life since I was 12 years old and now I am 50. I never actually had you as a school teacher, but as a mentor and friend you taught me more than you could learn in any classroom. I owe my entire career to her - she had me planning events and charity fundraising since I was 13 years old, and doing all sorts of community service. You leave a tremendous legacy behind with the thousands of students, youth program volunteers, community members, friends and family etc. you educated, led, supported, and loved. I so miss our monthly meet ups at La Madeline, Clyde's or Montmartre Cafe where we would sit for hours eating and chatting about empowering our community through various events and initiatives. Or, we just talked about life, family and friends. We may have been 40 years apart in age but we always hung out and laughed together like we were both still teenagers. You lived a very selfless life, which is very rare to find. Thanks for everything. May you rest in peace. We love and miss you!! Sending my love and light to her family who are grieving the loss of such a phenomenal woman!

Mrs Boyd was my 4th grade teacher at Forest Edge. She had a profound impact on my life and I will never forget her. Out of all my teachers, Mrs Boyd is the only one my mom constantly talks about. She was an amazing soul who accomplished so much. I was heartbroken when I got the news. Prayers to her family and friends.

Mrs. Boyd was my teacher in Kindergarten at Forest Edge Elementary School. She also worked for years with my mother the late Lillie DeGree. Our families have been connected for more than 50 years, as she did the flowers for my wedding in 1996. This is a person I have always known. People sometimes ask "did you have any black teachers. I always exclaim "Absolutely. My first teacher was Mrs. Boyd." Rest in Peace.
In response to "What act of kindness did you witness from Margaret?"
