Marcy Ann's obituary

Marcy Ann Hunter, 71, passed away on November 01, 2025, after a recurring battle with cancer. Those who knew Marcy know that she possessed a warrior spirit and fought to the very end to enjoy her life and live purposefully every day.

From her playful and joy-filled youth among neighborhood friends and classmates in Dinuba, to her years of adventure in Bishop, Marcy's love of life and connection to others saturates our memories. From her college ventures at University of Puget Sound she carried a zest for life and desire to serve into everything she did as a newlywed, a young mother, a volunteer, and eventually a lifelong special education teacher.

She was always concerned with the needs of others, from the underserved to her children and family, to the church and school communities within which she found her footing. She loved God deeply and authentically and shared her faith uniquely through deep relationships and palpable loyalty to those she loved near and far.

Family was always at the center of Marcy's life. From the wings of the stage to the sidelines of the riding arena, from the high school pool deck to the football field band stands, she championed her children and grandchildren as they explored all the beauty and wonder the world has to offer. The hole left by her absence is impossible to fill.

Marcy celebrated all the milestones and holidays joyfully, while quietly and consistently showing up in all the moments in between. She was a force, an advocate, a friend, and a wife and mother whose love will never be lost. Our lives today, and hundreds of others have been changed by her presence, by her confidence, convictions, and commitment to grace above all.  Marcy will be missed beyond measure. We are confident that her body is now restored, and that she finds herself among friends and family with a renewed sense of joy and unending purpose in the presence of God.

Marcy is survived by her daughters Amy Adams, Katy Blanchard, and her ex-husband Dane Hunter along with her four grandchildren and sons-in-law.
