Marc's obituary
Marcus Julian LeJay; affectionately known as Marc, was a radiant spirit who touched countless lives with his warmth, curiosity, and joy for life. Born on March 5th, 1995, to Rene and Wallace ""Wally" LeJay: Marc's life was a vibrant journey rooted in love, guided by faith, driven by purpose, and with intention.
He was a member of Neighborhood Community Church, where he formed a lasting bond with Pastor John W. Woods, Jr a relationship that nurtured his spiritual foundation. From a young age, Marc had a magnetic presence. His bright smile and genuine spirit had a way of lighting up every room he entered, leaving behind kindness, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
A proud graduate of Valley Christian High School, Marc stood out not only as a scholar and athlete but as a compassionate leader serving in Student Government, playing on Varsity teams, and leading a life-changing mission trip to EI Salvador. His pursuit of excellence continued at Santa Clara University, where he thrived both academically and socially: majoring in Economics and Political Science, receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree in both. He was a vital part of the Associated Student Government, SCU's Community Action Program SCAAP), Sigma Pi Fraternity, and the Food & Agribusiness Institute's Myanmar Immersion. Later, he earned a Master's of Science degree (Innovation) from Northeastern University.

He infused every role he took on with energy and passion, from his work in Northern California's cannabis industry to his groundbreaking collaboration with the renowned team behind the first celebrity-backed cannabis brand. Most recently, he held the esteemed position of Senior Creative Strategist at XD Agency, a nationally recognized creative agency. He collaborated closely with the agency's biggest clients: Lego, CrowdStrike, and worked with The Dad Gang to redefine the narrative of Black fatherhood in America. His exceptional work opened doors to new clients and high-profile speaking engagements. His brilliance, passion, advocacy for inclusion, and innovative spirit were widely recognized and featured in industry publications. This gave him a platform to share his perspective on the intersection of neuroscience and cultural events, like the Grammys and the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show. In every endeavor, Marc left an indelible impact with his remarkable contributions.
Marc was a devoted son, brother; and godson, cherished by his family. He never missed a chance to check in on his elders, care for his loved ones, and show up fully for those who needed him. He leaves behind his loving parents, Wally and Rene LeJay, godparents, Denise and Julian Heard, his sister LaToya Walker (Glen), a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, cousins, and an extended family of dear friends who became family through the years.
Marc embodied adventure, joy, and laughter: He reveled in life, always finding happiness and beauty in the world around him. His adventurous spirit led him to explore various states across the USA, the Caribbean, Morocco, Spain, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Norway, Germany, Myanmar, Korea, and New Zealand. Not only was he a traveler, but he was also a connoisseur of craft beer and fine cuisine. Although his time with us was brief, his impact on our lives is immeasurable.
Marc, your light lives on in all of us. You were a gift. You are missed. You are loved-always.
