Marcus's obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Marcus L. Wilson, a beloved member of our community, who left us on November 18, 2024, at the age of 59. Born on December 19, 1964, in Goldsboro, North Carolina, Marcus dedicated his life to serving others and his country.
Marcus honorably served in the United States Army, completing two tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. His bravery and commitment to duty were recognized with the prestigious Purple Heart, a testament to his courage in the face of adversity. After his military service, he transitioned into a career as a security guard, where he continued to protect and serve his community with the same dedication he displayed in the armed forces.
A loving family man, Marcus was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Melania, and his son, Marcus Trevor. He is survived by his sister, affectionately known as “Peachy,” and his nephew, Terry, who will carry on his legacy of love and resilience.
Marcus was known for his warm heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering support for his family and friends. He touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate Marcus’s life and the impact he had on those around him at a later date. In this time of grief, let us remember the joy he brought into our lives and honor his memory by cherishing the moments we shared.
