Marcia's obituary

Marcia Louise Elliott passed peacefully on July 20th, 2024, while surrounded by loved ones.

She was born December 27th, 1950, to James A. and Marion E. Betts and was the youngest of 17 children.

She grew up in Bath, Maine and attended Morse High School and was a member of the color guard there.

In 1968 she married Barry A. Elliott and moved to Farmington, NH where they raised 4 children.

She held various jobs in the local communities such as Vinny’s Pizza in Farmington, Store 24 in Dover, and Circle K in Wiscasset, Maine and Farmington NH, where she retired from in 2019. Of all her jobs, she enjoyed her time at Vinny’s the most, and looked back with very fond memories. She was beloved by her customers, and many became lifelong friends.

On December 17th, 2022 she married her soul mate of 31 years, Tina Ainsworth, in a lovely ceremony surrounded by family and close friends.

Marcia found joy in simple things. She loved flowers and enjoyed gardening outdoors. She was an avid reader of murder mysteries and was addicted to A&E and true crime dramas. She enjoyed listening to music and LOVED to dance. She was an animal lover and was frequently caught feeding her grand pups under the table. She found joy in decorating. Decorating for Christmas was her favorite.

Of all the things she enjoyed, spending time with family was what she loved the most. She and Tina would host family weekends in Wiscasset every summer and Christmas. Many memories were made at those family gatherings, with all her kids and grandkids together under one roof.

Marcia had many friends and always had an ear to listen. She was blessed with the gift of gab. She could be blunt, but her advice was always filled with love, and the occasional cuss word. She was one of a kind and will be remembered and deeply missed by many.

Marcia is survived by her wife, Tina Ainsworth, and her three children, Lori Elwell and her husband Anthony, Stephen Elliott and his spouse Tina Ellis, Barry Elliott and his wife April. She was the proud grandmother of James Elliott and his wife Lisa, Lexi Britton and her husband AJ, Stephanie Elliott, Jordan Elliott, Stephen Elliott II, and Gage Elliott. She was great grandmother to Jacob, Kaylee, Amaya, Madison, and Layla. She leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart. She had very special relationships with Kaysie Cole, who was like a granddaughter to her, and Amy Smart who was a trusted confidant.

She is preceded in death by her daughter Teri Lynn Elliott, her grandson Christopher Alan Sublette, and many siblings.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday, August 25th, 2024, from 12pm – 4pm at the American Legion Post 72, 164 Wolfeboro Highway, in Alton NH. All are welcome.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her name to your local cancer charity or animal shelter.
