Marcelino "Chelo" Martinez, also known as Chelo but preferred Marcelino, passed away on August 12, 2022. Born on November 11, 1936, in Cotulla, Texas, USA, Marcelino was a happy, friendly, and humorous man who was beloved by all who knew him.
In his professional life, Marcelino worked as a gas station attendant, dutifully serving the community with a smile on his face. His dedication to his work made him a mainstay at the gas station, and many customers and friends fondly remember his generous and welcoming demeanor.
Marcelino was a man of many passions, but his love for playing the accordion and dominoes stood out amongst his hobbies. Whenever he had free time, Marcelino could be found serenading friends and family with his accordion or engaging in a lively game of dominoes, his infectious laughter echoing through the room.
Marcelino's legacy lives on through his daughter, Marsha Martinez, Sons Marcelino Martinez Jr, Jose Martinez (Barbara) Francisco (The Tank) Martinez his grandkids Erika, Timo, Alisa, John, Joseph, Jesse and Louie who survives him. They will undoubtedly cherish the memories of their father Poppop and continue to share the joy he brought to everyone he encountered. Including his best buddy Robert Pocho Perales, his dear nephew Julio Martinez, and his Chicago nephews and nieces. It is with heavy hearts that friends and family say their final farewells, but the happiness and laughter Marcelino brought into their lives will never be forgotten.
