Marcel Sanchez, 71, passed away on November 9, 2025, in South Bend, Indiana. Born on February 19, 1954, in Chicago, Illinois, Marcel’s journey began in Mexico before he immigrated to the United States as a young child—a move that would shape the course of his life and legacy.

Though he did not attend college, Marcel was a self-made man whose determination and skill led him to a fulfilling career in carpentry. With hard work and vision, he eventually established his own small business, earning respect for both his craftsmanship and entrepreneurial spirit. His hands built more than just homes—they built a life of purpose and stability for those he loved.

In 1980, Marcel married Elizabeth, beginning a partnership that would span over four decades. Together they raised four children: Susy, Marcel Jr., Moises, and Eliana. Family was at the heart of everything Marcel did. He took immense pride in watching his children grow and later found great joy in being a grandfather to five grandchildren.

Marcel also leaves behind three siblings who shared in the many chapters of his life. His home was often filled with music—he had an enduring love for singing and playing guitar. Whether strumming familiar tunes or sharing stories from his youth, Marcel’s energy and warmth were constants that brought comfort and laughter to those around him.

A loving grandfather and devoted husband and father, Marcel will be remembered for his vibrant spirit and unwavering dedication to family. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched with kindness, music, and the enduring structures he built both literally and figuratively.
