Maqing Pan passed away on August 29th, 2021 from complications that arose from a brain tumour recurrence. 

Maqing was born in 1963 in Xiaoshan, China. Graduating university at 20 years old, she became an English teacher at Hangzhou Foreign Language School (HFLS), kicking off a lifelong career in education. HFLS was also where Maqing had met Hongmao Yang, a fellow teacher, and they wed in 1986, going on to have twin daughters in 1994. In 2006, Maqing and her family moved to Canada and were welcomed by All Saints. Restarting life as a new immigrant was not easy, but Maqing persevered through odd jobs and additional education. She became a beloved Montessori teacher at Westboro Montessori School, where she worked from 2009 until 2019. 

Maqing will be dearly missed by her husband, Hongmao; daughters, Dora (Jiwon) and Mary (Arda); parents, Youkang and Shuizhen; sisters, Maling and Xing, her extended family and friends, her church community, and her many students and colleagues throughout the years. Donations in memory of Maqing can be made to the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada.

马青于1963年出生于中国萧山。 20岁大学毕业之后，她成为了杭州外国语学校（杭外）的一名英语老师，开始了终身的教育生涯。在杭外，马青遇到了历史老师杨洪懋。他们于 1986 年结婚，1994 年有了双胞胎女儿。2006 年，马青和她的家人移民到加拿大，受到了All Saints Lutheran Church教会的欢迎。 作为移民，重新开始新的生活并不容易，但马青通过打零工和接受额外教育坚持了下来。 她在 Westboro Montessori School 成为深受喜爱的老师，并于 2009 年至 2019 年在该学校工作。

马青会被她的家人深深思念：丈夫杨洪懋，女儿冬冬与丈夫Jiwon，女儿梅梅与丈夫Arda，父母马有康和潘水珍，姐姐潘马玲与丈夫谢幸儿，妹妹马星与丈夫王一鑫，她的大家庭与朋友，教会的朋友们，以及她多年来的许多学生和同事。 以纪念马青，哀悼者可以向加拿大脑肿瘤基金会捐款。
