Manasseh's obituary

Manasseh Larson was born on January 2, 2004 and left this world, and a hole in our hearts, on November 22, 2021.
Manasseh was born in Ethiopia and blessed our lives in January 2008.
He was nicknamed "Moonbeam" because his light literally exploded from him. Everyone he met fell in love with him. He had the most extraordinary smile that could light up a room.
Manasseh was an incredible athlete. He excelled in football, LAX and track. He could run like the wind. He was a beloved teammate because he didn’t care about winning or being the best, but about the camaraderie with his friends.
Mostly, Manasseh was unconditionally compassionate. He was the kid who everyone turned to for advice. He cared incessantly about his family and friends, was so gifted in sensing their need, and helped them through their tough times.
His dream after graduation was to live in a monastery in Tibet. He didn’t care about things, he cared about people.
Tragically, this world was too much for his kind soul. He told us in leaving…”I wish I could have found that hope, but day by day killed me”.
Manasseh is survived by his parents, Sherry and Peter; his twin brother Ephrem; his brother Reed and his sisters Breanna and Bryn. His family in Ethiopia will also mourn him.
Details on a Celebration of Life will be shared in the near future. His family politely declines flowers and asks instead that you make a donation to The Second Wind Fund for Youth Suicide Prevention in Manasseh's name at the link below.

"Don’t Lose Hope. When the Sun goes down, the stars come out."

As a reminder to please support the ones around you, to be brave, to have awareness, and to reach out - here is a link to a Grammy awarded video series that Manasseh was casted for to spread awareness of teen suicide prevention via Safe2Tell Colorado:  https://youtu.be/p62thn_wgvo . This is just one of several beautiful advocacy videos showing the bravery of each individual's story, please take the time to hear what these young adults are trying to tell us.
