Mamie's obituary
With profound sadness we announce the passing of Mamie Bridgers/Bryant, a loving and devoted mother and friend to all whose lives she touched, on November 15, 2023. She left us while sleeping peacefully at her residence. She was born on October 26, 1958.
She was predeceased by her parents, Cathryn and Larry Bridgers, and her brother, John Bridgers. She is survived by her daughter, Chelsea Bryant; her sister, LeighAnn Williams; and her brother, Bently Bridgers.
After a successful career at the BB&T Operation Center, Mamie retired in 2022. Her life was a testament to her strong work ethic and dedication. She was known for her humble heart, and this virtue will forever be her legacy.
Mamie had an incredible love for life. She relished in the joy of Southern home cooked meals and was an ardent supporter of the UNC sports teams. She was a regular viewer of America's Got Talent, finding pleasure in the varied performances that graced the show.
Her love of church and spending time with family, friends, and her furry best friend, Ellie Mae, were the highlights of her life. In retirement, she enjoyed peaceful times at Atlantic Beach, NC, creating memories that will be cherished by all who knew her.
We will remember Mamie as a woman of strength and love, a woman who lived her values and showed us the joy in simple things. Even in her absence, her humble heart continues to inspire and guide us. Her spirit will forever be a part of our lives, and her legacy of love and humility will live on through those she left behind.
As we mourn the loss of this incredible soul, we also celebrate her life, her achievements, and the joy she brought to ours. She will be dearly missed and remembered for her generosity, her loving nature, and her positive spirit.
