For years, she stood strong against the elements, dutifully delivering letters, packages, and even the occasional postcard. Through rain, sun, and storms, Maili was always there—a silent witness to our lives and a symbol of connection.
Tragically, Hurricane Helene took her from us in the early hours of September 27, 2024. As we grieve this loss, we also want to celebrate the joy and laughter she brought to our neighborhood.
Purpose of This Memorial Fund
In honor of Maili’s legacy, we are raising funds to establish an annual “Joyful Hour” in her memory, a time for neighbors to come together, share stories, and raise a glass to the small yet meaningful things in life—like a mailbox that made a difference. We also plan to use a portion of the funds to replace Maili, ensuring her spirit lives on and continues to connect us, just as she always did.
Why This Memorial Fund is Important
Maili was more than a collection point for letters; she was a community fixture. Replacing her with a new mailbox is a way to restore that sense of unity and normalcy.
