Maggie's obituary

Maggie passed away peacefully around 2:30pm on December 2nd, 2022 at the Tufts V.E.T.S hospital in Walpole, MA. She had abruptly fallen very ill, struggling to breathe and requiring round the clock oxygen therapy to keep her stable. The doctor's tried many things to help her breathe on her own, but her lungs were too deteriorated to function properly anymore. Although her vibrancy and spirits were high, her old body had failed her. She was a very strong and brave girl, fighting to come home all the way until the end. Because she had only a few minutes outside of the oxygen kennel before going into crisis, we brought home to her. We brought all of her "friends" aka plushie toys, her favorite blanket, one of her beds, one of Brian's used shirts, a picture of her, and some brioche bread. She was hugged, kissed, snuggled, and told how much she was loved. Even in her final minutes, she was the same Maggie we always knew vigorously searching for any crumbs left of the brioche bread #foodislife. We are comforted knowing her last memories were doing all the things she loved, smelling scents of home, being fed, being patted, and being with her mommy and daddy.

Maggie's Life:

Maggie was born on February 11th, 2008 in Mahaska, Kansas to Dogone Lucky Leo and Martys Miss Moe. She traveled her way to Debby's Petland at the Square One Mall in Massachusetts in search of her forever home. On April 18th, 2008, she was found in a kennel window facing the mall, laying down with this sad look in her eyes staring out the glass. Cathy fell in love with her cute little face and brought her home.

She spent most of her early years in Saugus, living with her mothers Cathy and Christine, her grandmother Mimi, her aunty Yvonne, and her cat sister Chimes. She was full of energy and ran around all over the place. She was often called Maggie May, Chicky or Chicky Chicky, Maggalina, Maggatha, Maggie Girl, Gremlin, Stinky Face, Shnookum-Shnoo, Love Bug, and Little Love. She spent her time getting belly rubs, tormenting her sister Chimes by chasing her around the house, and eating like royalty with her own plate of food of whatever Mimi cooked for dinner that day. Even though she was tiny, she had a mighty personality and could easily convince anyone to spoil her with food and pats.

When Cathy had found the love of her life, Brian Luu, he quickly adopted her as his own pet. Maggie and her daddy bonded so well and anywhere Brian went she would follow. Whenever daddy was playing video games, she would be right by his side chillin'. When mommy or daddy went to shower she would peak her head through the door to see what was going on and then lay down on her belly outside of the door protecting them. When we look back at our memories, it is so funny how she was always there with us doing her own thing.

She was often called the "community dog" because when Cathy moved out of her home in Saugus to live with Brian in Dorchester, she would spend her weekdays in Saugus and then every weekend come to Dorchester to stay with her parents where she got to spend time with her grandpa, grandma, and aunty Jenny. This lasted for majority of her adult and senior years until she moved into her new home full-time with her mommy and daddy in Stoughton.

She celebrated every holiday and birthday with family and friends. She loved being with people. While healthy and active, she loved going for long walks and hikes at Breakheart Reservation. She had touched the lives of so many people with the joys of patting her fluffy body, her happy smile, and her companionship. She was such a good girl, a great work from home buddy, and our best friend.

Dear Maggie,

We will forever love you and we miss you. Until we can meet again Little Love, you will have to watch over us. You are now our Little Angel. We know you are patiently waiting to see us again. Love, mommy and daddy <3
