Maggi's obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Maggi Rye Bordman, a woman of exceptional beauty, talent, and intelligence. Born on July 30, 1954, Maggi embraced the Southern Belle style throughout her life and passed away peacefully on April 26, 2025.
Known for her grace and warmth, Maggi was a true inspiration to those around her. Embodying the spirit of trying new things and pushing boundaries, she encouraged others to step out of their comfort zones and explore the world in unique and exciting ways.
The breadth of her accomplishments was truly remarkable. Maggi was a beauty pageant winner, holding the titles of Miss Amory, MS, and Mississippi Pork Queen. She graduated from Smithville High School at age 17 as class salutatorian. She was also a proud graduate of Mississippi University for Women, where she actively participated in theatre, the Rosette Social Club, and was a member of the Lambda Tau medical science club. Maggi nurtured her love for performance by singing and playing the guitar. Her professional background was as impressive as her creative pursuits, with roles in pharmaceutical sales and as a medical technician in microbiology labs.
However, among all her accomplishments, her favorite title was "Grandmom." Her undying love for her family is her true legacy. She embraced her roles as wife to Roger Bordman, as a mother to her beloved daughters, Tricia & Erin, and as a grandmother to her adored grandsons, Julius, Nathan, Cassian, Conner and Caleb. Her legacy is not just one of individual achievements but a life full of love, warmth, and inspiration.
A Celebration of Life for Maggi Bordman will take place on May 31, 2025 at 11:00am at Mississippi University for Women Carrier Chapel followed by a picnic lunch at the park. We invite you to join us as we honor her life and share memories of a remarkable woman whose spirit touched so many lives.
