Maggi was a bit exotic to me. She was not like anyone else I had met in our little town. I could listen to her talk for hours about all the places she had been. Until I met her, I didn't know much, if anything, about college or choosing a career. She wore cool clothes and taught me how to harmonize with her and her guitar. She was always willing to perform. She convinced me to enter the Miss Amory beauty pageant! ME? The tomboy who didn't wear girly clothes...who spent more time in a tree reading a book or daydreaming about where the planes were going as they drew patterns on the sky with their exhaust trails. Maggi taught me that the world was so much bigger than our sleepy little Mississippi town and that people lived different kinds of lives. She was a better friend to me than I was to her. At least, looking back, it seems she taught me so much while I taught her so little...mostly because I knew so little. I wish we had kept in touch after high school, but life pushed us along diverging paths, as life is prone to do, until we were out of sight from each other. I miss her. I miss what might have been. May God bless you and keep you.

My sincerest condolences Bordman Family. The death of a loved one is extremely painful. It’s unfair and takes away the people we love the most. Please know that during such a difficult time, you are not alone. Our father and God Jehovah is with you and your family. Psalm 34:18 says “[He] is close to the broken-hearted.” Know that he yearns to bring them back to life (Job 14:15). And soon he will bring a resurrection, John 5:28,29 says “Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.” May this promise give you hope and endurance to face the future with confidence.

Maggi and I were in the same social club at college. I remember her as vivacious, beautiful, and larger than life. She was always happy and smiling and was the life of the party. I am so sorry to hear this sad news. Gone way too soon. I will be keeping the family in prayer. 🙏🏼

Maggi was such a big part of my life, not only as college roommates for 4 years, but as a lifelong friend. She challenged me to try out for theater productions in college and introduced me to Dr. Bob Gaines (theater director) who open the worlds of theatre, classical music and opera to me and who has become one of my dearest friends. Maggi also talked me into going out on a blind date with Mike Burke, to whom I have been happily married 50 years!
Maggi and I recently attended our 50th college class reunion at MUW. I will miss you dear friend. Rest in peace.
