Maeve's obituary
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Maeve McMullen, a beloved grandmother, mother, and friend, on July 6, 2023. Born on June 22, 1930, Maeve lived a life full of love, resilience, and generosity. Born in County Armagh, Northern Ireland and migrated to the USA in 1964. Maeve was a proud and staunch Irish Republican, serving as a soldier during the Irish Civil War and “The Troubles.”
Maeve was predeceased by her beloved husband, Padraig McMullen, and her cherished son, Patrick McMullen. Maeve mourned deeply the untimely loss of her grandson, Rory McMullen.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Elizabeth McMullen, and her daughter-in-law, Nancy McMullen, who never failed to bring her joy. Maeve's ebullient spirit lives on in her grandchildren, Conor, Gaelin, Molly, Kelly, and Declan McMullen. Their cherished memories of her will be a beacon of hope and love in the days to come.
Always the heart of her family, Maeve loved nothing more than to be surrounded by her loved ones. She led by example, showing her grandchildren the importance of patience, understanding, and unconditional love. Her passing leaves a void that will never be filled, but her legacy of love and warmth will live on in the hearts of those she left behind.
Maeve left an indelible mark on the world, touching the lives of everyone she met with her kindness and can-do spirit. Her memory will continue to inspire and guide all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Maeve's favorite cause in her memory. The 32 County Sovereignty Movement or the Erie County SPCA. She will be missed more than words can express, and her light will forever shine in our hearts.
