Update from Nov. 7, 2023

A group of mads' friends are embarking on a project to collect and assemble our beloved mads’ creative expressions. mads left her mark on the world in numerous ways, including her poetry, her prose, her essays, her little snippets of brilliant wisdom written into corners of a paper, her paintings large and small, her drawings, her songs. These creative works may have touched you, been created for you, or otherwise influenced you and many others – and we think they will continue to leave an impression.

You can help by sending copies of mads' creative works to madscreativeproject@gmail.com. The goal is to put together a booklet in her honor and memory to be released in time for her first yahrzeit, the anniversary of her death, on January 25, 2024.

Obituary

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Mads (Madeline) DeShazo, 33, of Milton, Massachusetts who left us on January 25, 2023 as the result of a tragic accident. She is survived by her mother, Jake Karger and sister, Molly DeShazo. Her father, John DeShazo, passed away in 2011.
