Personal note from Lynus' Family

Thank you so much to everyone for adding your memories.

The French writer Gabriel Marcel says, "To say to a man 'I love you' is the same as saying, 'You will never die.'" This can be commented on in many different ways. To me these words mean, first of all, that if each of us has been brought to life by the love of the Living God, then eternity is in store for us, because His love will not allow us to fall out of existence. This also means, on our more humble, simple, but very practical and important level, that we should never allow ourselves, when we lose a loved one, to say, "We loved each other, we were so close" in the past tense, as if with the death of that person love died and only pain was left in its place. We must always say in the present tense, "I love him (her)," who has departed this life, because, as the Old Testament tells us, "Love is as strong as death" (Song. 8:6), it is the only force that can withstand death and not be defeated. And as Christians we can affirm that love is stronger than death because we believe in the victory over death won in the resurrection of Christ.

Update from June 28, 2021

Although Lynus’ parents and siblings have lots they want to celebrate and share about Lynus, the shock and suddenness of this event has made it impossible for them to gather their thoughts for today. They earnestly want to make a space at a future date for Lynus’ loved ones and friends to share and celebrate their memories with him.

The Erickson family wants you to be sure to know that you are invited to a future celebration of Lynus’ life. There will be plenty of time then to share stories, pictures, music and food in his honor. Please watch for updates on the ever loved memorial website about the date of this celebration.
