Lynnette's obituary

Lynnette Kearney passed away at her home in Spokane Valley at the age of 39 in holding (as she would always say). She was born in Portland, Oregon, to Ned and Caryl Kearney. Her heart held a special place for Phyllis Dougher, whom she considered a bonus mom.

Lynnette is survived by her adored younger brother, Ed Kearney, along with her sister-in-law, Sarah. Lynnette's legacy lives on through her daughter, Katie, her son-in-law, Cody, and her grandsons, Jaden and Logan Nelson. She also leaves behind the Dougher family, and numerous other beloved relatives, friends, and loved ones. She was a devoted mother, sister and grandmother, who absolutely adored her grandsons.

Lynnette grew up in Vancouver Washington and graduated from Fort Vancouver High School in 1972. In her 20s she moved to Spokane Valley, Washington which became her cherished home. Lynnette worked several odd jobs, her favorite of which was working as a Paralegal. Lynnette attended Spokane Community College, pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering in 1998. Due to chronic illnesses, she decided to put her career on hold and instead became a devoted stay at home mom to her only daughter, Katie.

Lynnette enjoyed gardening, specifically, growing tomato plants and caring for her many house plants. She was an antiquing enthusiast, and her favorite place to visit was Long Beach Washington where she would collect driftwood and sea shells. Some of her other hobbies were cooking, baking, card writing, reading and talking with friends.

Lynnette radiated joy everywhere she went, and made friends with anyone and everyone. She was quick to help anyone in need without a second thought. She was strong willed and had a great sense of humor. Her outgoing and bright presence illuminated the lives of all those fortunate enough to be a part of it.
