Lynnette's obituary

Lynnette Rudd Packer Beste passed away unexpectedly on October 18th, 2021 at the age of 61. She was surrounded by her loved ones in Idaho Falls, ID.

Lynnette was born to Ossian and Donna Packer on May 27, 1960 in St. Anthony, Idaho. She was the oldest of six children and spent her childhood years in St. Anthony.

After graduating from South Fremont High School, Lynnette moved to Salt Lake City where she continued her education at the University of Utah graduating with a B.S. in Accounting. After graduating she got a job with one of the Big Six accounting firms. She later started her own book of business with Allstate Insurance. She married Scott Ryther in 1985. They had two children, Sarah and Cameron. They were later divorced, but they co-parented their kids in the most admirable way.

During her time with Allstate, she met the love of her life, Jerry Beste. They were married in Salt Lake City on October 9th, 1999, and sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on December 30th, 2000. Through Jerry, she gained two more beautiful children, Brandee and Cory.

Lynnette always had a book in her hands. She enjoyed drinking ice-cold Diet Coke, sewing, camping, fishing, and boating. She also loved spending time in the kitchen baking. She especially loved to make cookies, cinnamon rolls, and desserts. When she wasn’t baking, you could find Lynnette knitting or crocheting something incredible. Her son refers to her as the Crochet Master 3000. Over the years, she made beautiful dresses, quilts, blankets, socks, mittens, hats, doll clothes, kitchen towels, and more for her kids and grandchildren.

“Mama Lynne” as she was lovingly called, loved her grandchildren more than anything. She jumped at any chance to spend time with them. Mama Lynne played with her grandchildren, loved helping them learn how to bake, read, sang songs with them, made crafts, and did puzzles.

Lynnette left behind the most special legacy. She was incredibly kind, thoughtful, and caring. She’d give the coat off her back to anyone in need. She was a follower of Christ and shared His love with everyone she met by serving them. Lynnette left a footprint on our hearts and she will be remembered forever. We love her so.

Lynnette is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Beste, her adoring children, Sarah (Jacob) Skaggs, Cameron (Kumi) Ryther, Cory (Taylor) Beste, Brandee (Alex) Mabey. Grandchildren: June Skaggs, Millie Skaggs, Scottie Ryther, Stockton Ryther. Siblings: Lori Horcos, Lisa (Kyle) Stewart, Lee (Tim) Urling, Flint (Lisa) Packer and so many nieces and nephews who loved her.

Her parents Donna and Ossian Packer, brother Michael Packer and brother-in-law Sergio Horcos preceded her in death.

In lieu of flowers, you can contribute to the memorial fund to support the family at this difficult time. We thank you for all the kindness you’ve shown us at this time of sorrow.
