Lynn's obituary

Lynn Shipley Murray passed away on December 20th, 2022 in Centreville, Maryland. Lynn was born on February 13th, 1936 to Archibald Franklin Murray and Ann Rebecca Murray. Upon graduating from Franklin High School in Reisterstown, Maryland, Lynn enlisted into the United States Marine Corps. After finishing his three year enlistment, he attended Penn State University and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Foresting.  Once settled in his new position as a Forester, Lynn proposed to Pat Hales and they were married in Nevada and lived in TiBar, California. Lynn and Pat moved around Northern California while Lynn worked in the forest service , including Stonyford and Willows. During that time, Lynn and Pat had three children, Rebecca "Becky", Anthony "Tony," and Patrick "Ricky." Once he retired, Lynn and Pat  traveled across the United States in a fifth-wheel visiting family.

Lynn and Pat settled down again in Ava, Missouri for several years. During this time, Lynn worked for a fishery, enjoyed his garden, and spent time with his wife, Pat. After the loss of their son Tony, Pat and Lynn decided to move back to Maryland in 2018 to be closer to their family. Lynn spent the remainder of his life spending time with his wife, his daughter, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. 

Lynn was predeceased in death by his parents and his son, Anthony Murray. Lynn leaves a legacy of love. He is survived by his wife, Pat Murray, his daughter, Becky Murray, his son, Ricky Murray and his wife Ginger, his grandchildren, Brett, Alison, Grace, Lynnette, and Ashley, and his seven great-grandchildren.

A private service for the family will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Alzheimer's Association.
