Lynette's obituary

Lynette W. Ruley (Wiggins), age 72, of Weymouth, MA, spent the last days of her life surrounded by her four daughters and she went home to be with the Lord, on November 10, 2024.

Lynette was born on June 25, 1952 to Eva and James Wiggins in Winston-Salem, NC. She was the tenth of thirteen children.  Lynette graduated from Overbook High School in 1970 and earned a Bachelor's degree from Penn State University in 1974. Lynette spent so much of her life as an educator (a teacher and later in life, a substitute teacher with the Weymouth Public School District). Lynette married her sweetheart, Elwood Ruley Jr., in 1980 and they were blessed to have four daughters, LaKeisha, Tammi, Nikkole, and Sarita, who she affectionately called her "four jewels." Lynette dedicated her life to being a mother to her four jewels. She instilled in them a faith in Jesus Christ, which Elwood and Lynette ensured was woven into the fabric of their home. Lynette loved all of her son-in-laws, brothers, sisters, brother-in-laws, sister-in laws, nieces, nephews and friends dearly.

One of the greatest gifts she received was becoming a grandmother in 2012 and being known as "Nana" to her 12 grandchildren: Joshua, Maya, Nola, Gabriella, Wyatt, Makai, Haven, Eliana, Zora, Brielle, Wes, and Josiah.   When Lynette was not with her family, you could find her at Woods Seafood in Plymouth, at lunch or dinner with a dear friend, bopping around town at Hobby Lobby or Marshalls, and even catching a Weymouth youth softball game.

Her legacy will always be her belief and faith in Jesus Christ! It was her life's calling to praise and speak the name of Jesus and spread the light of Jesus to everyone in her life.  Lynette would want you to know that she is in heaven with her Savior, reunited with her loved ones who preceded her in death, and reunited with her love Elwood. She is rejoicing with the angels and at peace with a life well served in praise to Jesus!

"Well done, good and faithful servant." Matthew 25:23

Lynette was predeceased by her parents Eva and James Wiggins, her husband Elwood,  her siblings Jimmy, Wayne, Kenny, Jean, Mary, Rudolph, William and Geraldine. She is survived by her daughters LaKeisha, Tammi, Nikkole, and Sarita, and her sisters Vergie, Linda, Janice, and Jay Laverne.

We will miss her greatly. We are deeply grieved and we ask for your prayers.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visitation for Lynette on Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 5-7pm at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA. There will also be an hour of visitation from 10-11am prior to the funeral service on Friday morning November 22, 2024 at the Pentecostal Tabernacle Church located at 56 Magazine St. Cambridge, MA. Burial will be at a later date in the Massachusetts National Cemetery located in Bourne, MA where Lynette will join her husband Elwood.
